The bible is proven to be understandable to those that have an obedient and open heart for God and His truths. However, to have Spiritual understanding, one must have an obedient heart before they can receive the gift of the Holy Spirit that reveals all truth with clear understanding.
Acts 5:32 (NKJV) And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.
The apostle James teaches that the wisdom of man, self seeking and lying against the truth is earthly, sensual and demonic. I believe there are many doctrinal teachings of man which has been passed down from generation to generation, as godly, with the intent of drawing others to their beliefs, rather than seeking the truth of God. Some of them, when you try to align them with the truth of the Scriptures, do not align, confusing, and just doesn't make any sense. I believe these teachings are as the apostle James says, ...For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.
James 3:14-17 (NKJV) But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy
Therefore when it comes to identifying Jesus, there are many doctrines, according to Scripture, that misrepresents whom Jesus, the Son of God, really is. Many credentialed preachers and theologians teach that Jesus' true identity is that, Jesus is the only one true God, and since that's difficult and confusing to prove with Scripture, they also teach that it's too deep for the human mind to understand. To me, that's a big red flag. Think about that. If one believes we are created in the image of God, a God that wants a personal relationship with each of us, would He give us a mind, that's not sufficient in understanding who He is? Consider the following Scripture that lists all the things that are deserving death and notice that undiscerning, which by the way, the KJV used the words, without understanding is deserving death, which loudly proclaims there is nothing in the bible, that God is not going to give us an understanding, if we seek Him for His truth.
Romans 1:28-32 (NKJV) And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
Also take notice in this next Scripture that God has given, those in Christ, a sound mind.
2 Tim 1:7 (NKJV) For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
The bible is full of Scripture that defines in truth, the Father/Son relationship. It is my deepest believe and conviction that any one that wants to understand the wonderful mysteries of the Bible, must first have a reasonably clear understanding of the relationship that Jesus has with His God and Father. Jesus and His disciples clearly identified whom we are to believe Jesus is, and today, according to Scripture, Jesus Himself, has a God and Father. The following Scriptures clearly confirms that Jesus, will forever (1 Cor 15:) have a God and Father.
1 John 5:10 (NKJV) He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son.
John 3:16 (NKJV) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Luke 3:22 (NKJV) And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, "You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased."
God said: Mark 9:7 (NKJV) "This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!"
2 Cor 1:3-4 (NKJV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
2 Cor 11:31 (NKJV) The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.
Eph 1:3 (NKJV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
Col 1:3-4 (NKJV) We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints;
1 Peter 1:3 (NKJV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
Then comes the end when Jesus Himself, will continue being subject to His God and Father:
1 Cor 15:24-28 (NKJV)Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. For "He has put all things under His feet." But when He says "all things are put under Him," it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.
Please keep in mind that Satin does not want anyone to experience a personal relationship with God. For when that happens with those that desire that relationship with God, Satin has lost and God has won the love of that soul. That is why there are so many deceiving doctrines, preached and supported through Satin's credentialed ministers, appearing godly, doctrines that veil the soul saving truth, concerning whom we are to glorify, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus.
Romans 15:5-6 (NKJV) Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The apostle John clearly identifies whom we are to believe that Jesus is, keeping in mind that Jesus' life was the manifestation of God's love for all mankind. So in identifying Jesus as the Son of God, the apostle John begins with sharing the importance of love. God's love for us and our love for Him. However, neither can be understood without understanding that Jesus is the Son of God. Please take this to heart with an open heart for truth.
1 John 4:7-19 (NKJV) Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.
The bible clearly states what we are to confess, concerning Jesus: Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. Why is it so important to believe that Jesus is the Son of God rather than that He is God Himself. Very simple, believing that Jesus is the Son of God is living proof of God's love for His Son and for all mankind. However believing that Jesus is God in the flesh, destroys any personal understanding of God's sacrifice and love for us and our love for Him. Any loving parent that has lost a child, know first hand the pain of losing a child, and would of gladly given their own life in exchange for their child. Clearly understand, if Jesus was God Himself on the cross, then the value of the blood as a Son is totally destroyed.
I did in fact lose a son, and my blood, to me has absolutely no value, compared to the value of the blood of my Son. And if Jesus was God in the flesh, who was He praying to in those last moments?
Mark 15:34 (NKJV)And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" which is translated, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"
Another important note, to confess that Jesus is the Son of God, one would first have to believe that there is a God and that, that God has a Son who is Lord over those that have submitted to God in all things.
1 Cor 12:3 (NKJV) ...and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.
Another important reason to confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, is in understanding the divine relationship Jesus holds with His God and Father, yet today, and only then can they understand, that they, themselves, through that same ONE Spirit, experience that divine relationship they can also have with God. Without this understanding, it is impossible to understand their own relationship with God through Christ and their lives with demonstrate their lack of understanding. And to believe Jesus is "all God" would make this following verse and all out lie!
1 John 4:12 (NKJV) No one has seen God at any time.
The apostle John wrote that anyone that does not confess Jesus as the Son of God are antichrist for they do not acknowledge that Father/Son Relationship through God's Holy Spirit.
1 John 2:22-23 (NKJV) Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. 23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
Lets for a moment take a close look at what this verse is saying. Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Considering that the meaning of the word Christ is anointed. If Jesus is the Christ, who anointed Him? Was it not God?
Acts 10:38 (NKJV) how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
God can not be anointed, God can not anoint Himself, for He is Spirit. Jesus identified God as a Spirit
John 4:24 (NKJV) God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
And it is His Spirit that He anointed His Son Jesus with and it's through that same Spirit, are the anointed children of God, giving them the understanding and strength to overcome and experience victory over self, the first requirement towards salvation. Therefore, the bottome line is ...Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ, are those that have an antichrist heart for they do not acknowledge Christ, resisting the anointing which is the very glue of one's relationship with God! If they are not in a relatioship with God then their father is Satin, the father of all lies, making them a liar!
My fellow brethren in Christ, let us not defile the love of God in ignoring the importance of identifying Jesus, as the Son of God. The gospel of Christ is so important that the same apostle John that identified those that would not acknowledge the Father/Son relationship as antichrist also continued to wrote this Scripture.
2 John 1:9-11 (NKJV) Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.
Take notice that Scripture teaches us that whoever abides in the doctrine of Christ does not sin and I seriously doubt if anyone can abide in the doctrine of Christ unless they first believe that Jesus is the Son of God:
1 John 3:6 (NKJV)Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.
1 John 3:8-9 (NKJV) He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin
